What does Lumen gentium 16 say about people who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ or the Church?

Lumen gentium 16 says that people who, through no fault of their own, do not know Christ’s Gospel or his Church can attain salvation if they sincerely seek God and, moved by grace, strive to do God’s will as known through conscience. This is a conditional possibility, not automatic salvation, and the passage retains the Church’s missionary duty.
